Ultra-Violet (UV)
The relatively high energy, short wavelength, photon regime immediately beyond the visible blue/violet end of the spectrum. Beyond this at increasingly shorter wavelength is the x-ray spectrum. The ultra-violet (UV) spectrum takes over from x-rays at wavelengths of few nanometers, moving into the visible spectrum with violet, which has a wavelength in the region of ~380nm.
